Opening doors to the future

Opening Doors to the Future enhances The Committee for Hispanic Children and Families work with youth in high schools through a series of workshops and experiential learning opportunities geared towards exposing participants to college and career options. The program has been created to provide the following:
 
1: A better understanding of expectations for the professional workplace
2: Marketable skills that can be used to improve your ability to succeed in the workplace
3: Exposure to different types of colleges and financial aid opportunities
4: Self-awareness about your strengths, challenges and interests as you plan for the future.
 
Student Responsibilities:
 
The Opening Doors to the Future Internship is paid and interns are required to work at their assigned job placements according to a schedule of hours and days that are mutually agreed upon. Interns are required to communicate in advance with CHCF's Team if, for any reason, they are not able to fulfill their commitments to be at their internship sites as scheduled. Participating interns are expected to adhere to the following guidelines of the program:
 
1. Fulfill program contract
2. Be available for the duration of the whole 144 hours and attend the workshops as a prerequisite for successful completion of the program along with the weekly workshops
3. Applicant will NOT cut classes, be excessively late to school or misbehave in any shape or form that will hinder their chances to proceed with the internship.
